Hi people I have just started my study for F9 – it is the last F paper I need to sit before progressing to the P’s.

I know its largely a matter of personal opinion and preference, but Generally speaking is F9 considered to be one of the harder or one of the easier exams to study and/or pass??

I am balancing my study at this stage 4 hrs a week on theory and 4 on Opentuition lectures. I plan to start detailed question revision about 4-6 weeks before the exam.

    Any tips or advice?
    I am sitting in December.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi

I failed this exam in the June sitting.

Personally I think it is a passable exam and from the amount of studying you plan on doing you should be fine.

The aim is to get the right mix of calculation and discussion, the discussion part is what I find difficult.

This is a definite question practice paper and also practicing exams, which are time pressured.

    Hope this helps a little!

Well people belive it’s a hard paper. Some people even cosider it to be a nightmare.

But i would rather say, it’s hard to score high in this paper 🙂 And that’s it 🙂

It’s very much possible to pass though.

I would not call this paper easy, as if u never studied financial management before, it will be somethign completely new for u …a step away from accounting. Lots of new terms, lots of new formulas. Theory is boring and often quite complicated to understand.

My advice: do not try to master financial management (it will take u centuries to do so). Do a very very focused exam prep. Train yourself to pass this exam , solve exam format questions. Then you’ll do fine.
ah yea, mail me for some further interesting info regarding this paper: anastasia.ch@gmail.com

    Good luck!

Well, personally this is much easier than F5, F7, F8 if you understand NPV,IRR. (If you know the essence of NPV IRR you have understood half of F9). F7 on the other hand was really a nightmare for me
