    Hi wondering if anyone can help me I am using kaplan uk variant for F8 studytext and also looking at the lectures on open tution ( which are brillant) and they are INT variant I think does this matter they seem much of the same what is the difference with the variants???

    Hi Nicola,

    the audit standards used in the int and uk variants are the same IAS standards. The difference with the 2 variants is in the accounting standards used, uk uses FRS and SSAP where as the int variant uses IFRS etc.

    Are you aware that this December sitting is the last using the uk standards, next June the uk variants use IFRS?

    ok thanks ill stick with uk so. but the lectures are ok to view like even though i am doinh uk.,they still are useful for uk variant its just the accounting standards are different but i always taught they dont exam the standards in much detail is this true??

    Hi,

    no the standards are not examined in detail but you can get marks by mentioning them. So long as you are aware the videos are for int variant you should be fine.

    No I changed to International. I am in Ireland my Kaplan book is UK variant I cannot do UK variant so I am going to do International the Majority of the information in the UK Variant book I have and the Int lectures on open tution are much the same so think Ill be fine. Cheers for the help
