yes that was the second one. i put recommendation as system should be amended and customer as they were only 4 should have their master files stored on the system with prices stored as well. don’t know whether or not that is correct.
December 4, 2014 at 5:36 pm #217560Looking at the poll responses as to the difficulty of a paper like this is misleading. Everyone seems comfortable with the answers they gave. Yet if you look at the pass rates of previous papers, the examiner doesn’t quite concur. Thankfully the mcqs give a good opportunity for a pass.
December 4, 2014 at 5:39 pm #217563I also remember that they only sent statements to the hotels and not trade payables/receivables, so I stated that they should do as they were not performing reconciliations until year end, and therefore more likely to incur bad debts/dispute of invoices
December 4, 2014 at 5:42 pm #217564Good point well made
December 4, 2014 at 5:49 pm #217570In terms of the valuation I was a bit unsure of my answers –
Substantive tests I put the auditor should inspect fixed asset register and compare to physical assets for existence.
Then compare physical assets held to fixed asset register for completeness.
I remember one of the mcq question asking about substantive test for existence so assumed I would be ok with these two answers. However I know they are assertions? So are they valid tests?
December 4, 2014 at 5:49 pm #217571Please does anyone remember what the last question 6 comprised? I dont think I answered all of this and am really worried!!
December 4, 2014 at 5:57 pm #217577I too am worried – very long paper and I have learned there were 6 questions in section b and not 5 – I only answered 5 🙁
Does anyone know if last question was a 20 marker?
December 4, 2014 at 6:00 pm #217579There were the 12 MCQ’s in Section A, and 6 Questions in Section B. Question 6 was worth 20 marks. It was on the back page of the question booklet 🙁
December 4, 2014 at 6:05 pm #217581Guys most of my mcqs were option B. Did anyone get lots of Bs? I think I got one D n that was number 12.
I was short on time as well. Think I left five six marks.
December 4, 2014 at 6:09 pm #217582I feel a little bit better reading what you guys have put but also there are a couple of aspects i thought damn wish i just included that in my answer but with the time pressure……what did you all put for question 6?

The question was benefit of not outsourcing…it was cost reduction
December 4, 2014 at 6:41 pm #217598the answer to my mcqs were 4 A, 4 B, 3 C nd 1 D!!
overall it was a pretty lenghty paper, idk how people are saying it was easy, not for me!!December 4, 2014 at 6:45 pm #217600Overall I found the exam very easy. (Finished 30 mins before the exam was over) If you learnt all the past papers dated back from 2009, you would realise the paper we sat today, all existed in the previous papers. (Even the sub procedures for WIP etc)
MCQ were straight forward and easy bar two. The one about the disadvantage of the questionairr.
What did you guys put down?

The answer to what’s NOT the benefit of outsourcing was that it’s ALWAYS the cheaper option. always was the key word here as it’s not always the case
