I want to take f6 and f8 exams in Dec 2013, but I’ve been advised not to take f8 unless I’m taking f7 at the same time (or have previously passed f7). I understand why, but, I’d like to know if anyone on OT passed f8 without either taking f7 simultaneously or having passed f7 previously?
The classes for f7 and f8 were canceled by my tuition provider a few days ago, so, the plan is to study f8 on my own.
Whoever said that F8 can’t be taken before F7 is foolish. F8 is tested on F3 based level not on F7 level. So you can take it without breaking any sweat.
I did F7 and 8 in June and can’t recall anything in F8 that depended on F7 knowledge. Ratios are covered in both so handy to be able to use that knowledge in both, but they are also covered in F5 and 9 too, so even that argument doesn’t really hold.
Do F8, having not done F7 will not hold you back at all.
Thanks nps1976 and zlip792!
