Hi everyone,
I m going for four papers in this december, is that realistic? When I tell people that I am doing four papers they start to lough at me! Please share with me ur experience if u ve done such thing before.Going for four is fine if you are a full time student!
Three is normally pushing it for some one working (tried that last sitting – nearly went crazy) Two is more mangable and most recommended. Ideally one computation and one writing paper.
One is ideal if you are short on time.
The thing with ACCA exams is that for each paper you have to know the entire sylabus and do a lot of practice question, read the articles and clear on concepts. its a lot to remember and persons often times decide to enter for several exams and fail all while if they had done only one or two they would have most likely pass.
So how much time do you have to put in?

I left work after 3 yrs of professional experience. I am a full time student now and do at least 5 hours of revision even on the days that I have classes. I was first nationally in high school and secured a scholarship from government to study at the university of manchester. I left uni in my first year at uni for some reasons and went back home and started my acca. Passed first 6 exams in two exam session and this my third now.Don’t let anyone let you down or laugh at you!! They like to do that because they couldn’t do it themselves!!! People used to laugh at me all the time because I take 3 papers at a time when I am a full time worker but I PASSED ON FIRST ATTEMPT!!!! I sometimes think, what if I listened to their stupid advices of taking only two papers? Because at times they almost made me doubt myself and I almost listened to them! I would have finished by now only till F4!!! When I have finished till F6 and I am giving F7, F8 and F9 this December!
Btw, I was planning to take four papers just like you this December, for some reason I thought 3 is enough, however, I still personally think it is completely achievable if you study hard and give your time and efforts, go for it if YOU think you can do it, if you are doubting yourself then don’t and take three papers, but as long as you personally think you can do this, then give it a try and don’t listen to anyone, they obviously don’t know you better than yourself and everyone is different so I really wonder why do the people keep using their own experiences as a model for everyone! Some people can take 3 papers and pass on first attempt, some would take 2 and still fail!! It really depends on the person himself and how much time you are devoting for your study!
Ps.I also passed the first 6 exams in two exams sessions! *high five* 😀

I guess people use their own experiences to give advice as what else can they base their opinion on?
Well done if you’re to take 3 or 4 papers but why ask the question if you’re not gonna like the answer?
I’d say surely if you’re full-time you’d be a fool not to do 4. I’ve got 2 (P5 & one other) left but as I work full-time and have a wife and family, 1 at a time is more than enough for me!
They can base their opinions on their experiences, but no need for them to consider their opinions as a fact, you see the point?

If you think one paper is enough for you, that’s good FOR YOU, everyone has different capabilities, true story!
I don’t think anyone is expressing their opinion as a fact. That’s the whole point of an opinion, that it can’t possibly be fact!
Are you saying that no one in this world fanatically defend their opinions as if they were facts? That’s really weird dude, where are you living!
If they do then they’re missing the point in the meaning of the word ‘opnion’.
The fact is, an opinion cannot be a fact!
Anyway, back to studying Transfer Pricing. Groan!
You are over thinking this, Richard. What I was saying is simple and clear, when I say they were considering their opinions as facts, it doesn’t mean that they are ((literally)) considering their opinions as facts. It is an ((expression)) All it means is that they were defending their points in such a way that make it seem ((((( as if))))) their opinions were facts and cannot be debated. I thought that was clear.
