Hi all just joined up with open tuition as I am sitting F7 & F9 December 10 exams.
I was going to print off the course notes but on F7 the notes are for the international paper not UK.
As the exams are not changing until June 11 I thought there would be notes for both international and UK?
Can anyone please advise where I can find course notes for f7 UK? Thanks for your helpSeptember 10, 2010 at 10:47 am #67846Hi,
OT to my knowledge has never done notes for F7 uk only the int stream.
Good luck with your studies but are you sure you want to go ahead with the uk variant, you will have to change for P2 anyway?
September 10, 2010 at 12:43 pm #67847Thanks Starfish for your info.
I am doing home studies and i am re-sitting the F7 UK exam as didn’t pass in June and the books i have are also for December 10 exams, so thought i would try again on the uk exam.
Is there a lot of difference in the international exam to uk?
Good luck in your studies
September 14, 2010 at 11:40 am #67848Some of the main differences between the UK paper and the International paper concern consolidation accounting. Under international accounting for consolidation under IFRS 3 the non-controlling interest (called the minority interest in UK version) may be allowed to recognise their share of the goodwill of the combined entity. Also negative goodwill has to be recognised immediately under Internatinal Acoounting rules by crediting to the income statement not recognised over the lifetime of the non-monetary assets to which it relates.
