Yes, they should be fine – I’m planning on making one or two cosmetic adjustments, but nothing major

    Hi Mike
that’s great thanks – that means I can get going soon (maybe give myself off till after Christmas).
How different is the UK from the INT syllabus? I compared the Dec 13 paper and there was only one difference that I could see and that was in Q1 asking comparison between IFRS and UK GAAP.

Does that mean if I take the UK variant I have to learn both IFRS and UK GAAP? Would I therefore be doubling my study load? Also, what’s the point as the UK is slowly moving over to IFRS anyway?

If I want to practice in the UK, do I need to be taking UK variant papers?

Thank you very much indeed and have a wonderful Christmas.

I believe that you DO need to take UK variant if you wish to practice in the UK – it’s a shame because the UK is slowly moving to full acceptance of IFRS.

Check the ACCA website to see if the UK / International rule still applies to June 2014.

I don’t believe that it’s “double” the work – it certainly is extra, but not double

For the extent of the differences, check the ACCA syllabus page – it sets out the detail of which financial statement are applicable for Uk and for International
