The question asks to calculate the basic EPS. I note in the marking scheme that there is half a mark for transferring the profit figure from the statement of profit or loss to the EPS calculation.
In the June exam I remember getting bogged down here because I didn’t have a profit figure since I had missing figures in the statement of profit or loss.
With no profit figure to transfer to the EPS calculation, what should I have done?

Put in a figure plucked from your head! Write
“Earnings per statement of income (say) 80,000”
If you’d listened to my lectures, I believe that I advise my students to guess when faced with a problem like that
