I failed my last sitting with 48% because I struggled with time management.

I attempted section A first and when I got to section b ,question 3 took most of time as it asked for 3 accounts. I ended up not attempting the other financial analysis question as I ran out of time.

May you please advise me as to how I can do better in my next sitting in March, do I always have to attempt section a first or when faced with surprises like a big question 3 ,do I dive straight into section b first and do the others last?

    Thanks

    Lorraine

Lorraine! How old are you? Don’t answer that!!! If there’s a question for 30 marks, that’s a time allocation of 54 minutes. At the end of 54 minutes, YOU STOP

That’s how you manage time allocation.

These 30 mark questions are intentionally long – and repeatedly they suck in students that don’t have the self-discipline to stop

When you get to 54 minutes, that’s stopping time

Stopping time is NOT when you have finished three statements. Very, very few students will finish 3 statements within the time allocation. Only the very best prepared will manage that. The rest, and here I include you, will not get through to the end unless they fatally overrun their time

Lorraine, it’s easy! Just stop, and move on to the next question (or part of question)

You can’t imagine, but i also got 48% last time because of my bad time management but during my preparations. I can’t find the balance btw work& family& exam. I tried to do all thing together. And after that i’ve got so tired and when i got the results and see 48 points i was really sad, because we have to achieve 1 goal per moment, not all of them. I will try this time….

Margaret, I don’t remember seeing you ask any questions on the F7 Ask ACCA Tutor page before! Maybe, if you asked questions of me about areas where you’re not 100% sure, between us we can get you into a position where you CAN balance family, work and studies effectively
