Can you tell me if F7 and F9 will be ok to sit together in December 2014? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
August 14, 2014 at 12:45 pm #190071Hi,
I am sitting F7 & F9 together and trying to get a study group/study buddy going. I sat F7 in June and failed with 46%… that paper is all about timing and knowing exactly what to apply and when without fliching.
F9 apparently is not THAT difficult (in ACCA terms that is) but it has a LOT of formulas to learn and it needs a lot of practice. Both are very important and require a lot of time, dedication and support.
Let me know if interested in studying together.

You don’t say whether you have any other F level papers to clear.
If you haven’t and these are the last 2, they’re quite an acceptable combination anyway. But it’s pretty much Hobson’s Choice isn’t it – ie no choice …. it’s either F7 with F9 or it’s F9 with F7.
If you do have others to clear, F7 with F8 seems to be a popular combination
August 19, 2014 at 12:42 pm #191493Hi Thee,
Thanks for your replies.
Jeile – unfortunately i am up in Derbyshire so i wont be able to join a study group with yourself.
Mike – i have done all but F7 and F9. I self study but work full time along with having a 5 year old. I study every other weekend when my daughter is at her dads. Hopefulkly this will be enough time to allocate to these 2 papers

In my opinion, sitting for both papers is a wrong move. I did both combinations twice and only succeeded in passing F9 after the 2 sittings. I scored a 48 in F7.
August 22, 2014 at 7:49 pm #191947kirstie – it’s certainly doable – do you not have time in the evenings when your 5 year old has gone to bed?
Even if you find that evenings cannot be brought into the equation, it’s still doable
A lot depends on motivation, desire, dedication, and yes, ability to absorb.
We are not all blessed with the same abilities – some people I know can look at a topic and absorb it pretty much instantaneously where others have to look and study and ponder and struggle and ……
Are you a “once read, fully understood” person or are you a “struggler”
I suggest you go for it and see how you feel as we approach exam day – but the choice is entirely yours
August 26, 2014 at 11:06 am #192378Hi
Im left with F5,F7,F8,F9.
I work an 8 hour job and can afford to spend about an hour to an hour and a half of reading most evenings, and maybe 2/3 hours during the weekend. I think I am some where in between a quick grasper and a bit of a struggler.
Trying to find the ideal combo for this December 2014. Kindly advice.
Baring in mind the I have a balanced social life but am motivated to pass.

Please do not post the same question multiple times
Thanks
September 2, 2014 at 5:05 pm #193342I am planning on sitting for F8 and F9 together. I do not know much about F9 but it seems F7 is popular with F8. I am in Nigeria so I do not know anyone interested in a study group. Thanks.

I’m doing F7 and F9 together. I failed F7 in June I think largely due to poor timing on my part. The course lectures on here are excellent to follow.
I also work full time and have 3 children. If you would like to help each other via Skype and whatsapp I would love that. I know what it is like to self study with kids!
I want these exams out the way!
September 10, 2014 at 6:42 pm #194596Foxy, you need to contact Kirstie and Thato. Heaven only knows how you do that – maybe send a private message?
Motivation (and competition!) is good for giving the impetus to drive you forward through these exams
