    Hi there,

Can someone help to answer my questions? I have started to look at past papers and after completed June 2013 q 1 and checking the answer I am unsure about:

    a) working 4 – effect of personal pension contributions on tax bands
on point 3 of workings – from where 34,370 was calculated? to be honest I do not get the whole working 4 calculations…

    b) point 3 of workings – from where 8,063 comes from?

    c) Personal allowance calc – just to double check – it looks completely different on current syllabus?

I am starting to be even more confused after looking at past papers as all the numbers change every year. Is there any source which I can use which will include only current year numbers/values?

    Thank you in advance

Don’t look at past papers as like you say the tax bands and rules have changed. You’ll only confuse yourself. Use an exam kit from an approved provider, they will have used questions from previous exams but updated the numbers and rates to the current tax year.

Thank you for your suggestion Chris. I have just purchased BPP revision kit and from now on I will focus on it.

Yeah but you should use past papers as it gives u the idea of the style of the questions and how they are asked. I’d use both just don’t rely on rates of past papers

Hi Paul, yes this is what I’m planning to do after completing revision kit. Thank you for your suggestion
