Honestly, nobody can say this exam was hard. The result may not still be as good, but the questions were not difficult.

Were we supposed to use the husband’s nil band in the inheritance tax question or ignore it?

I’m asking myself the same question.
I did use it both for the lifetime and after death calculation but i’m sure it’s wrong.

I was wondering if the excess of the hubby’s NRB would get passed on only if there had been a transfer of property btwn the spouses.. of which there was no mention in the question.. :/

NRB of husband should be used by wife by % if unused against 325k

    Q. With fergus, I had no idea if directors remuneration salary should be deducted or not.

Also Cheeky to ask to calculate a tax adjusted trading loss from a loss figure. Never seen that in exams before!

I was kinda confused, but I still managed to do my best. I obviously didn’t know no. 3 and it pains me much cos days a whole 10 mark lost.
For the IHT, I ignored d husband NRB

I hope I get good score from the MCQ’s . I can’t wait to see the answers

Question 2 in Section B was a tricky bugger, but after reading it 12 times, it was easy!

MCQ’s were a piece of cake!

Question 5 and 6 in Section B were surprisingly easy too!

VAT and Inheritance Tax were very hard…couldn’t remember the rules for VAT flat rate scheme and Inheritance Tax proformas!

    But a suspiciously easy paper!!!

    Then I realised…everyone takes a different exam…

We have property tax, profits tax and salaries tax in Hong Kong…no vat, no inheritance tax…easy peezy!!

Hopefully I did well in the actual exam…
