Have just left the testing station, but no spoilers from me I’m afraid. Let’s just say that It went OK for me. I don’t think there were any huge surprises – plenty of places to make silly mistakes (which I did, I think, in hindsight). And I even had time at the end; I’m not sure whether this is a good thing or not yet. I did leave part of a question out as I had not a scooby how to answer it and thought about giving it a shot but really couldn’t find the energy to pick up my pen for 4 points.
Of course, if I have to re-sit for the sake of a couple of points I shall be livid with myself ;o)
Much better than F5; maybe there’s something in letting students know what will definitely be in the exam………
June 12, 2012 at 9:12 am #100110Can anyone share the questions ?
June 12, 2012 at 1:06 pm #100111paper was ok & not time pressured but i also did some silly mistakes in hurry & i also dont try to cut the whole question & do again.

a relief after yesterday’s abomination
June 12, 2012 at 2:17 pm #100120Looking back at the exam today, I don’t think it was all that bad, and I probably did ok. I was hoping there would be some questions where I could go on auto-pilot, but I felt they all required a bit of cautiousness, as there were many opportunities for slipping up.
The trouble is, I found it difficult to concentrate today, and was in a state of mild panic throughout! I think had I have faced this exam in the comfort of my home it would have been much easier. That’s my excuse anyway!
June 12, 2012 at 2:33 pm #100121Hi ppl a few questions:

it was okey, although only managed to complete 94% of it, there was no surprises, as all the areas are covered in the Opentuition note, somehow still made some little mistakes ;S, hopefully can still pass. thanks opentuition.

nothing surprising however when i think about it….i see a lot of silly mistakes i might have made
time management was poor on my side, i had only 20mins to attempt question 2…though i had it planned out, start with IHT, then on to Gains then the losses, do the Income Tax question 1 and finally question 2….
nuff said, i wanna say a Big thank you to Opentuition for their assistance, it was a blast, my confidence was built by you and when i saw the questions, i was likr okay…this is what they said and how they said i should handle this.
Thank you so much
i cant promise anyone 80 – 90% in this paper but i can pledge as pass in this paper, the Examiner gave us a chance to put a lot of theory knowledge on paper this time.June 12, 2012 at 2:47 pm #100125AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

it was a very fair paper , I say fair because I know I made some silly mistakes today, largely because the F5 paper yesterday totally bamboozled me and left me a little deflated and partly because I felt time pressured. All in all a doable paper.
that F5 lecturer…..hmmmmm what is her major malfunction? (I’m going to be moaning about F6 for along time)June 12, 2012 at 2:54 pm #100126Did people say in question one it is beneficial not to use the flat rate scheme as your paying more VAT right?
June 12, 2012 at 3:00 pm #100127no it was benificial,to use flat rate ,
Very nice paper ,very easy
much better than f5June 12, 2012 at 3:07 pm #100128With chargable gain did you guys explain the residential being in the uk rules?
June 12, 2012 at 3:07 pm #100129Oh crap I did a sily mistake was it not just % x sales ?
June 12, 2012 at 3:09 pm #100130Re: loss relief i have claim back 12 monts with micheal and 36 months with sean? And explain the wastage of personal allowance
June 12, 2012 at 3:10 pm #100131How much did you do with the nil rate band 325000 plus husbands 70 percent
June 12, 2012 at 3:12 pm #100132I said that flat rate would be more beneficial.
To be honest I found this very fair paper quite hard. I lost it with the time allocation. I am always worried I will miss out a question altogether so I go through them in order. I spent too long on question 2 and could not correct it in question 3. I jumped to question 5 at this point and only had half the time I should have had for question 5 and 4. My answers to question 4 were scribbled and poor.
I did not do the 2 seperate rates for question 2 but did know it was charged at MR rates. I did know I should have applied 2 rates as per OT advice but to be honest I was running out of time and only applied the last rate. tut tut!!!! I hope I have scraped a pass.OT gave me the opportunity to give it all a go as I do not have any other tuition. Thank you so much OT. I told lots of people at the exam hall about you. I so hope I did pass because I feel I owe it to you guys – you have already given me f4 and f5 passes – I hope f7 goes well for all tomorrow too.
Debbie 🙂 🙂 🙂 x
