It was ok, familiar questions (save for qn5 )with some few tricks and this explains as to why I can not boldly state that I am confident with all my final answers. otherwise, i expect to pass.

The paper was fair to me, especially if you follow the OT f6 tutor and practice the June 2011 revision by open tuition. Although there were some tricky aspect of the question but one can easily pick some marks. i’m surprise candidates are complaing about question 3 on CGT. I listen and practice the OT f6 lectures and seeing those question was as if the super woman who took those lectures was talking to me in the exam hall. OT thks for your effort as for me i’v never seen any tutor as detail and with good lecture delivery as the super woman for f6.

    I agree, I could hear her voice…

    “Annual Exemption – easy mark
    Due date – Easy Mark”

Even though it didnt actually ask for the date….. 🙂

Can anyone remember what their total IHT death tax was ?

this paper was passable once u were well prepared..I finished with 5 mns to spare and as with most ppl Q1 &2 occupy most of the time..I think I screw up in question 1 , but still confident that I did enough to pass this paper.

I am not really sure but I think you have to complete fundamentals level before moving to professional level. You can always write e-mail to ACCA and ask.

To Finish this paper in given time was night mare, I think there might be a very fewer candidates ( could be none) who has finished paper with very less mistakes. Because, No one have guessed these kind of question will be asked. From my point of view this is the trickiest paper ever made to get the result down, Believe me, I have done So many questions but unfortunately none of them were like this.
You can take first three questions. We can score well on those, but see some of them don’t know where to start from.

Anyways, this is call our luck is not in favour. so let’s hope for best for next time.

Don’t take tensions. Cheers guys, better luck next time.

I think the paper was quite fair, loads of tricky bits though… But even if you get those wrong, you are only penalized once… I did not feel the time pressure this time. Did not rush through the questions and answered them all. I expected it to be much worse. Even q3 that seemed to be hard at first glance turned out to be ok. Well, hope to pass and hope all of you will as well !

The paper was not bad but tricky to time pressured, i tried to keep within the time for each question, but it did not work out, i an only wait for the result, i have attempted this paper so may times and stuck at 49%, it feels like i will be getting another 49%, my problem is not so much the rules or the principles, I think I am going to start for December 2010 exams if all goes well almost immediately. My aim if all goes well is to become ACCA qualified

i am very comfortable :),i did first 3 questions very well, question 4 was my night mare because a lot of details about dates, fortunately manage to score at least 50% of it :),and of course the love one is question 5.
I can understand why everyone complain about question 3,all we have to read carefully and if required extend basic rate band (37400) by adding any contribution to pension and calculate chargeable gain after deducting AE(10100).How ever each individual dispose his/her share different way, indexation allowances, share received or cash(6 pound for 1# share),any capital loss or chargeable gain had excluding current disposal share, and of course Income of each individual’s need to consider.Addition, examiner point out in the question context that all income of each individual’s figure is after deducting personal allowances, and no gift relief available, and enterpriser’s relief too .
in my view exam questions was OK,but within more tricky things.
All i care now about F5,still not feeling ready for it.
Nevertheless the one who study hard will past definitely ,

I spent first two hours on question one and two and then rushed through other three questions. But thank god i was able to answer all questions. Thats because question 4 and 5 weren’t that lengthy as we only have to write dates in vat question. Question 3 created some problems for me but i was able to do it. I hope i did it right. Paper seemed to be easy for me. But yes. A bit tricky and lengthy. Hopefully i will clear it.

Can any one remind the ISB allowance. I allowed all expenditure on the building as nothing was over 25% however it was bought in 2005 so was wondering if we had to bring the TDWV B/F from 2005 dedeucting 5 years worth of allowances to get the 2010 brought forward allowance?

I have attempted all questions, but found the paper quite tricky(:

I did so many questions on Q1 andQ2, but what we had in this exam – was totally different (:
It looks like examenator decided to make is much harder for us then it ws in Dec and June 2010….
Especially Q3 – was aboslutely hard,
Q2 – with capital allowances confuse, althout i did so many questions on this topic
Q4 – Vat, unfortunately could not remember much about annual accounting and dates – hate this deadlines

My favourite question was Q5 – IHT, just to be accurate in calculations and be aware of CLT and NRB figures.
