Hi, I have the same questions as ewarne82. Im sitting the Irish Tax F6 exam in June 2017, wondering about what textbook to use and also if the lectures on here are of any use , if I’m sitting the Irish Variant?

    Thanks!

    Lynne

Hi, I want to sit the Irish F6 exam in June 2018, did anyone manage to pass by doing it self-study, and what books did you use?

Hi, I’m in the same boat as Lola.
Can anyone who has sat the exam recommend the book to use? Also, advice on how you found the exam in terms of your study approach, i.e. would self study be a good option? or are classes a necessity? Just looking for insights from those who have sat the exam.

I just passed F6 and went to Accountancy School in Dublin, Sandra Gleeson gave the class using her own text book and a question bank she put together herself, a lot of past paper questions have to be altered to suit the current tax rules so maybe that’s why there’s not many (possibly none?) F6 Irish study texts around.

I’d recommend her anyway, fairly direct with her approach, only teaches what you need to know to pass the exam, not much theory in the exam so its all about practice practice practice with the questions. Very interesting class too for anyone new to tax also as it’s actually relevant to yourself!

Another one here finding very hard to find material for F6 irish variant, just can’t afford to go to classes at the mo so will have to be self study, I see you can sit the Uk variant by CBE in Dublin so thinking might have to go that route.
