80% UK variant, I asked my hubby to check the text for me as I thought it’s an oversight.

Not so bad for a person who works full time and has nothing to do with taxes in her work πŸ˜‰

Ok I am sorry for saying this and I am delighted that people passed but the people that are reporting 90 plus scores could you please state what variant you did? It must be an easy paper as normally this’d my people don’t score near 100% in the whole paper. I did the Irish variant this year and work my butt off to get my pass and it is no where near 90. The paper was very difficult and the examiner report states that if I got my score 70 then it is a really good score. Could someone please tell me how you get 90 as it is near impossible. Fair play though to those who got it but it must be down to an easy paper or something like that

I got over 90 on UK variant. I think how difficult you find it is relative on this one. Anyone scoring highly has completed the exam knowing most of the answers so it would feel fairly easy. However, someone passing with 50 would have an entirely different view of the paper.

I passed with 53%. UK variant. Thanks to all those who posted good advice after the December 2012 exams. I listened to you; especially, someone advised that all the questions be attempted and I took that advise to heart and thank God I passed. I’m happy with this pass mark.

I cannot believe it, but I passed!! 53%! I was so sure I had failed!
I felt the exam went terrible for me, a really off day.
When I left the exam hall, and read the comments here I was kicking myself for all the obvious things that I had got wrong.
    Well done everyone!

Guys who got 80+ can you share your studying style as to how you plan each day and week. You guys must be doing something really RIGHT to get such good grades.

I spend 11 hours out of the house 5 days a week so really got time to study 2 hours after work (at most!) and study at the weekends.

Simply I go through the study book first, highlight everything what’s important, then watch lectures and when I go through the half of the study book I start doing questions.

I am not sure if my way is good though as I am only able to sit 1 exam per session. My work has nothing to do with accounting so I am not sure if this is a lack of time or rather lack of experience that hold me from studing to 2 exams per session.

    Some more advice please?

I passed !!!! I am so happy. I didn’t get as much as I thought but hey …. I passed, yeahhh. Congratulations to everyone who passed and to those who didn’t – don’t give up, questions, questions, questions, start doing alot of question from now and give it your best shot again come December. I’ll be taking my own advice for the one I failed (F7) – thought I’d have gotten far less than I did for that one, these results are so weird, but I did attempt all questions so I guess that technique does play a major role in our results. Thanks OpenTuition.
