Hi,
I am looking to do both F6 and P1 in December.
F6 is my last fundamental is this a good combination has anyone else did these 2 together or is there another P that might suit better?
The last 2 exams i sat were f8 and f9.
Thanks
LauraJuly 25, 2016 at 7:41 pm #329090Hi,
I think that’s a good combination unless, of course, you have chosen P6 as one of the two optional paper… In that case F6 + P6 would be perfect!
I consider F6 one of the easiest papers. The lectures here on OT are extremely helpful and the tax tutor really follows a step by step approach. However, there are many details to remember so I would definetely exclude the combo F6 – P2 as this is a challenging, time-pressured paper involving both calculations and written parts.
P1 & P3 are both “wordy” papers where you will need to apply theory and models to given scenarios.
P1 syllabus is relatively narrow compared to P3 so, maybe P1 and F6 could be a good combo, especially if are short on time.
I hope this helps.July 25, 2016 at 8:29 pm #329096Hi palmy,
Thanks so much for your advice. I was thinking either p1 or p3 along with f6 so will go with p1 and see how I get on,
Thanks
August 4, 2016 at 3:56 pm #331439Is it possible to do f6 and p1 in the same sitting? My accounts and finance degree gives me exemptions for all fundamentals except f6.. So was thinking whether I could do f6 and p1 together in December

August 5, 2016 at 3:06 am #331507Hi Palmy, another question, is it possible to do p1 and p3 before f6?
August 5, 2016 at 6:19 am #331540Nope, that’s not possible unfortunately. You will need to complete all the fundamentals before moving to the Professionals.
