Yeah, also chose none of the aboveI too believe that the right answer is none of the above. The other answers seemed quiet unlikely.

I thought the MCQs we much easier than last sitting and not as much workings as before. Part B was definitely tricky but I hope I did enough to pass
June 2, 2015 at 3:29 pm #251951Hi Tina,
Don’t focus on the past but focus on your next papers, it gets harder but also gets better. In other matters, however, it is not the invigilator’s responsibility to tell you the format of the exam, you need to know them as you prepare for your exams. You’ll find them here on open tuition, on the student accountant and also on your study texts. Just familiarize yourself with that for your next papers and the syllabus can help you know what you expect to be tested.
All the best in your next papers and future endeavours.
June 2, 2015 at 4:03 pm #251965Hi guys,
Can i just check on how you did ABC?
Did you guys just apportion the costs to the numbers given i.e., 1/2.5 1.5/2.5 for first cost pool 24/48 etc for second cost pool and 1/5 and 4/5 for the meal costs?
Or was there something more to it?
Thanks

You had to multiply the meals, appointments, etc by the number of procedures, add them together (A and B) then divide by the total cost for the cost pool. That way you get the cost/driver.
After that you work out the over head costs by multiplying the $/hour, example the one of meals I believe was 1 meal for A and 4 or 5 meals for B.
For procedure A, my ABC came to slightly less. And for procedure B, slightly more expensive, about $100-200
June 2, 2015 at 5:55 pm #252044John,
Thank you so, so much for getting your suggested answers up so quickly! I feel so much better now.
Really thought I’d made a complete hash out of the Transfer Pricing question but my answer was almost word for word the same as yours. ABC, Variances and Pricing calculations all exactly the same as yours so it’s all down to how generous the marker is when it comes to the wordy bits for 1-4 and the complete disaster that was my ZBB answer!!
Thanks again – you’ve made one girl very happy tonight!
June 2, 2015 at 5:56 pm #252046Some Tricky ones in the multiple choice. Definitely got at least 50% there but I had to guess at some as I was unable to reach ANY of the possible answers!
Q1 – ABC Not too bad – should have got at least 7/10
Q2 – Transfer pricing – BSd my way through it but should have picked up a few marks…
Q3 – Ask me any other variance and I’d be alright! Should have got a mark for the learning effect calculation and a few for the consequences of the manager’s actions. Absolute rubbish.
Q4 – Demand curve – Hi/Lo no problem ($21 VC, $800,00 total fixed) Calculated a optimum price of around $174 which gave a profit somewhere over the $20m mark. Hopefully picked up a few marks on market skimming.
Q5 – ZBB – Should have done fairly well but not sure I could get 9 marks worth of problems??Overall I did a pessimistic tot up of the marks I got and reckon I passed. This was my first ever ACCA paper so who knows?
F8 next!

460 units were production for one month, but there must be calculation for 3 month, so 3*460=1380 units.
Total cost for labour would be:
total average time for 1000 units+
380 units * time for 1000-th units(total time for 1000 units – total time for 999 units)
Then total time for 1380 units * 12$ per unit.June 2, 2015 at 6:25 pm #252075AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Oh my god me too! I was so stressed about that transfer price question….turns out I do know what I’m talking about!
Made a silly mistake on ABC but hopefully will still pick up some marks for it.
I completely messed up question 4, hoping I’ll pick up a few marks on it for the wordy bit :-/

In every Past Paper when question regarding Learning Curve appear they do state that Xth unit rate will be constant…. nothing about here. About 3 months we need to calculate Variance for just 1 Actual period.

I am happy , section B is good , when they publish test questions?Just a hunch, but I wonder if ACCA might be starting to withold multiple choice question papers, as they have already announced that they intend to introduce computer based exams for F5 to F9 from late 2016?
There surely can only be a finite number of useful variations of MCQ for F5, so ACCA could possibly feel they might need to start protecting them to use in their main pool of CBE questions in the future.
June 3, 2015 at 7:34 am #252303If so please write your answers in section A
what you write in question when two years were compared?
current ratio, receivable …June 3, 2015 at 7:45 am #252306When will we receive official marks from ACCA for F5 exam June 2015?
