Hope so!And my profit figure seemed ridiculously high ($20m odd) which made me doubt myself when I’d calculated the fixed overheads at $800,000.
I have got 20 profit and 800 000 fixed overhead, exactly as you have done. Nothing odd, the numbers were reasonable.

I felt q2 was more theoretical. I calculated the contribution per unit if m sells externally and the contribution per unit if m sells to s using the price offered by the new supplier (ie $800) less 740 (ie 770-30) and decided that the best price would be somewhere between 800 and the marginal cost of m producing an extra unit.
June 1, 2015 at 5:23 pm #251462Overhead was 800k yearly.. we need to calculate for 4 year combine

I have exactly the same answers.do anyone remember how much revised std. time was in planning variance?
June 1, 2015 at 5:25 pm #251465I calculated that transfer price… like 30k should be based on marginal costing. and 5k on marginal plus Contribution?
June 1, 2015 at 5:26 pm #2514662……. someting?
June 1, 2015 at 5:26 pm #251467How did everyone find the operational variance question? The i guessed the revised standard using the learning rate @ an extra 2 hours so approx 9 hours compared to orginal standard of 7 hours…then explained planning variance out of managers control bla bla..????

Q4 exactly the same 🙂 P=310-0.001Q , MR = MC , Q = 144500, price 165,5 (quantity & price maximizing profit), as price was 165,5 and variable costs 21 per unit, contribution was 144,5 $ x (as far as I remember 250’000 units? ) – fixed cost of 800k
June 1, 2015 at 5:27 pm #251470Can anyone pls tell me the answer for labour efficiency planning and operational
June 1, 2015 at 5:27 pm #251471Excellent, we have concensus on Q4 – that’s a start!
How about the rest of them?
Q1 – can’t remember my figures for the total costs of the procedures but the wordy bit I said that since they only changed the existing costs by a small amount it may not be worth implementing ABC due to the costs involved – not sure that was right?
Q2 – Think it was something like 1298 hrs for the 460 units with the learning rate so my planning variance was favourable but op. variance adverse
Q3 – Not a clue!! Think I put 30,000 units at $740 and buy 5000 units externally but fairly sure I made a mess of that one.
Q5 – Yikes – load of waffle on that one I’m afraid.
June 1, 2015 at 5:28 pm #2514722.08 ?
June 1, 2015 at 5:28 pm #251474Q1) I said the opposite… difference was 176 someting per unit.
Q2) yep same.
Q3) i made a mess too
June 1, 2015 at 5:29 pm #251476Pretty much same answers. Hoping for the best.. Anyone rememeber the answer for the 1st MCQ? ROI with depreciation thing?
June 1, 2015 at 5:30 pm #251477How about MCQs what was the answer for q1

2.08 ?Babu if your taking about variances i think thats what i got and added it to 7 hours to get revised standard
June 1, 2015 at 5:32 pm #251481I think I calculated the total time for the units as 1298 and then compared for the variance using the standard rate of $12.
The wordy bit about the implications:
Temporary workers on three month contract so will have too much labour as based on incorrect time
Manager will get a bonus because overall variance favourable but shouldn’t because op variance adverse
Stock – will run out because planned on slower usage
Something else I can’t remember for the life of me based on the question detail.

How about MCQs what was the answer for q1I put D
June 1, 2015 at 5:33 pm #251485Yes look like
June 1, 2015 at 5:34 pm #251486I said stocked will be higher because Cost is higher if learning rate is not taken into account :/ High cost Low demand !

Pretty much same answers. Hoping for the best.. Anyone rememeber the answer for the 1st MCQ? ROI with depreciation thing?266 000 but not sure,,,I have not calculated depreciation, as the question said before taking depreciation.
June 1, 2015 at 5:34 pm #251489Yes Lee same D

I think I put something about an inaccurate selling price because they used cost plus pricing.Yep, that was other thing!!
My mind went blank as soon as I left so I’m only now remembering when I see what other people say!
