    q1) decision tree
    a) go ahead with expanding as overall ev was 585 after deducting capital cost of 360 compare to not expanding was 420
    b)to get max price need to calcuate ev with perfect information less ev without perfect info from part (a) which was about 184

    q2) was wholly discursive

    q3) revised life cost per unit

    material 7.20+14.40 = 21.40
    labour =10.60
    warranty = 1.8
    something else = xxx
    total mc was about = 65.xxx or 67

    extra unchanged cost =60

    expexted selling cost was 192 compare average market price of 150 so it was suitable to use market skiiming price for com

    Q4) variance analysis was easy as component 1 planning was fav and operational was fab and comp 2&3 vice versa, generally performance of business was good as well purchasing managers cos overall mix and quantity was favourable due to more use of quality product which help boost of sales quantity

    Q5) revised budget was deficit of around 87000 and it was advisable to use zbb for newtown school.

    How do you find the deficit of 87k at Q5?

    i multiplied the figures by the inflation rate im sure we had to do that regardless of what the notes said? and yes the decision tree figures needed to be multiplied by 3

    You dont have to multiply it by 3 since all the numbers are for per annum

    An absolute dream, though not as easy as F9.

    It would be quite an achievement for anyone to fail this….

    per annum means yearly, every year. As the product’s lifecycle is 3 years you have to multiply all numbers by 3.

    in reaching the decision whether to expand or not ( what the question asks for) its not relevant since u will have to multiply both sides by 3 . So even if you don’t multiply by 3 , you will get the same answer. May be loose 1 mark

    Hope it make sense

    Just a stupid question!
    Does it really matters if someone forget to write his name apart from his student number?

    it was little bit hard , question no1 decision tree couldnt identify the way of approach ,

    I didn’t notice the product life of 3 yrs, either, so I didn’t multiply it with 3. Actually it makes a difference as the cost of furnishing the fitness hall only incurred once in the first year. So taking one year in observation, renting should be more profitable than furnishing, but taking three year, the additional revenue from furnishing will evtl. make up for the furnishing expenses at the beginning. So the decision might change. I’, so sorry that I messed up with this Q1. as I think it’s quite a simple one, though at the beginning I didn’t really know how a decision tree looks like.

    To all that worry about not marking on the first page which questions were answered.
    I have also forgotten to mark the boxes and further contacted ACCA. I received a reply from them that it is not a reason the exam not to be marked. So do not worry about that. As far as you indicated on the answer pages which question you work on it would be enough. However, if smn forgot to check also the answer pages, the examiners are familiar enough with the answers and questions and they would recognize which question was answered.
