Question 5 (b) & (c) was hard for me (didn’t revise throughput that well, just learnt formulas)

Otherwise, the paper was OK. Hopefully, will get 50+

You found it easy? When you get your results slip, please post proof of your high mark here for us. We’ll then all come to you with questions.

    That was a hard paper.

Paper was very difficult….written bits were quite easy….the calculations were disastrous….i dont think i would be able to pass just on written bits and some calculations….still lets hope for the best….

The paper was okay, though time pressure had it’s place.

Like someone mentioned above, intrestingly topics that were mostly expected , didn’t show up 🙂 And those that are usually not studied in depth were examined in many questions : like pricing ..i have a feeling , pricing was everywhere 😀

Quite fair and independant discussional bits , this is the only thing i hope for :))
As for calculations, won’t make any conclusions now, let’s wait for results 🙂

It was hard for me. Even I have done all the questions , but it was still not an easy paper to do. Hope I have done enough. Good Luck everyone.

Very difficult. The examiner chose very difficult questions. They are trying to make a point that you have to know everything. Which is pretty ridiculous given the size of the syllabus. The fundamentals should be challenged in each paper. They purposefully ignored and tested the more obscure stuff. I mean flexed budget?! I dont think thats been tested in the last 4 years?! Yet no ABC or Solving simultaneous questions. Arse!

I said a prayer this morning and then did some last minute revision – on sales mix variances and on pricing. I cannot believe that they both showed up.

Throughput on the other hand was tough – especially the practical element. I gave every bit a good shot but I know I failed the question.

Flex budget was nice and easy if you picked out the information and just systematically hacked at it.. It would have appeared hard if you took any other approach. I might have got a calculation wrong but I was very clear with my workings and my approach.

Risk and uncertainty was unexpected but the same applies. I saw it in BPP revision notes and was able to tackle it.

I am really happy with my luck and the paper and to tell you the truth, I’d rather be lucky than good because as you will realise when you do a professional level exam, there is too much information to know every last bit of the syllabus.

I have some to the conclusion that the key to passing this exam is luck. It is a very
broad syllabus therefore impossible to cover everything well!

Maybe I’m just feeling sorry for myself as I have studied but not in the right areas. The past exam papers were no help!

I thought this exam was hard although I did attempt each question, I wrote about the building blocks rather than the balanced scorecard but hope that as they are almost the same that will be ok !!!
I think that in every calculation there was abit to trip you up and I’m sure that I did trip up in each one !!!! but hoping that I’ll get a few marks on each.
I managed ok with the Flexed budget because of the lectures on Open Tuition !!!
Throughput calculation I used what they had used to divide and get Ratio !!!
All my calculations seemed just a bit out to what they told you further on in the scenio’s !!!
Oh well thats last exam this sitting so can now have a life back for a few months !!!

I’m glad most people agree that this paper was difficult. I thought it was just me! There were very obscure areas of the syllabus all examined in this paper. Pay off tables, expected values, flexed budget. These haven’t been examined for years. Calculation part was really tricky, theory not as bad. I dont’t think I will pass. Already failed this paper in Dec so I really wanted to pass this time.

Ann Irons – you are killing me!!!

This exam was the worst I have ever sat. I did so much revision, but just couldn’t get my head round maximin etc and demand and hoped they wouldn’t come up……….my gamble didn’t pay off! I just hope I did well enough on the other 3 questions to scrape a pass (fingers crossed X) I thought Q5 was easy tho’ a brilliant straightforward throughput question.
