I agree Gvvtftf – 9 and 20 do look dubious
December 5, 2014 at 11:19 am #217891Can someone put a link to the actual webpage with the answers, I’ve followed the other and seem to be the only one that is to dumb to find it?
December 5, 2014 at 11:19 am #217892Oleksand, believe me , its A 😉

December 5, 2014 at 11:26 am #217898q20 looks like a typing error
December 5, 2014 at 11:29 am #217900The same for number 9
December 5, 2014 at 11:31 am #217901the only error i made in Q3 was the apportionment of general overheads. thast it.
rest all good
Q4 was good.
Q5 i made an error i think.
i used the wrong numbers in the last section.
the second section i wrote exactly whats written on the answers by opentuition
feeling more optimistic
Q1 first half was right 2nd half i left it out
Q2 first half good . 2nd part i messed it up but hopefully shuld get mark for the methodDecember 5, 2014 at 11:33 am #217902GVT
remember i told you the wood will need replacement but at the later cost after 4 weeks…December 5, 2014 at 11:34 am #217903I agree that questions 9 and 20 look a bit ropey…..
I’ve marked myself “harshly” on other elements and come out near 80% so very happy!!!!
December 5, 2014 at 11:35 am #217905wow chris. thats real good
i will be happy with 50
as they sa in ACCA 50 or 100 its the same
1 or 49 its the same
December 5, 2014 at 11:40 am #217908And what is the correect answer for 9 you think if not D?
December 5, 2014 at 11:41 am #217910I think the answers for these are clear
December 5, 2014 at 11:43 am #217912the answer for 9 is D
i remember putting down D
cost driver we know that
tradition costing does under estimate overheads for large volumeDecember 5, 2014 at 11:45 am #217916Hi Sam
I’ve posted a note to John on the Ask the Tutor section of a thread already created to see what he has to say about 9 & 20. Also Sam, I’m not convinced on your theory. If you’re opting to do the Degree at the end of this qualification then the marks awarded along the way (as far as I understand) do count towards the “class” of degree awarded. Quite frankly, if I’m going to get a third class degree I’d rather not bother! 2.1 or above is essential. I sat my first degree 22 years ago and would have hung my head in shame with a third!! Just my opinion though but I’d rather aim high for these and not just “scrape though”. This is a very individual thing though and is very personal to each of us and how we approach these things. No right or wring – just subjective opinions. In any event, hoping all subscribing to this thread have got over the line and thanks to John for his guidance and assistance. How is it that Mr M can get the results printed up and available (albeit only “guidance” ones) quicker than the ACCA when they must have the answers and marking guide already prepared!!??
Kind Regards
Chris
December 5, 2014 at 11:48 am #217921I thought it under estimated for lower volume products (at least that’s what I remember all the BPP answers coming up as!).
December 5, 2014 at 11:50 am #217923i agree with you chris
but its only for people who want a degree.
i dont want it so hence m really not bothered. so for me 50 or 100 is the same
and loland plz lol dont hang yourself in shame. be proud of your achievements.
December 5, 2014 at 11:50 am #217924Sam, mate, here you are wrong i suppose. Theory says that in tradition costing overhead is overallocated to high volume products
December 5, 2014 at 11:52 am #217926Mcq 20, D doesn’t seem right, can the opentuition team please confirm it.
Ignoring MCQ 20, I get 28 marks from Part A, 2 were guesses so I don’t know which answer I chose for it, I maybe right on those as well..
28 from mcqs, means I cannot fail this exam. 🙂
December 5, 2014 at 11:54 am #217927I’m also dubious on questions 9 and 20. I knew that question 10 would be $56, it seems that some people don’t fully understand the shadow price of material.
Conservative marking based on these answers still gives me 75% so I’m pleased and very confident at present.
How does everybody else feel after reviewing these answers?
December 5, 2014 at 11:54 am #217928How did you miss the mistake in number 9??
December 5, 2014 at 11:57 am #217929Looking at something like 70%, question 4 was a killer.

Throughput question was crap….I feel they just twisted the question unnecessarily; if they wanted us to multiply the salaries by the number of employees, they really should have said “each stylist” not stylists. Anyways I hope to pass this one cos I think the obj was good and the other questions weren’t so bad.
