Hello,
I just downloaded the notes for F4 – global variant. May I know if the entire syllabus has been covered in these notes ? If there are any sections missing, can you please tell me what these sections are ?
I have downloaded the past 10 exam papers and answers for the global variant paper – will doing these papers together with using ONLY the notes from opentuition suffice to pass ( i am unable to get a text for the global variant from any publisher in my country ) so I am heavily reliant on these notes only. please advice
November 6, 2012 at 5:11 pm #106587The notes are as they are titled – “Course notes” and are used on courses when I’m teaching. About half the global variant syllabus is the same as the English syllabus, so you could also waych the recorded videos for where the two syllabi overlap.
If you were to check the syllabus from the ACCA website and compare with the global law notes contents page, you would be able to identify if there are any sections not covered by the notes.
I believe that, if you were to go through and thoroughly understand the past exam questions and their answers then, together with a full appreciation of the course notes, you should have a realistic chance of success in December
Remember, you can always post any queries you may have on the “ask the tutor” page and I’ll try to get back to you in a timely manner
Good luck
November 6, 2012 at 5:45 pm #106588thanks for the reply! What is your opinion regarding the syllabus coverage – have u covered the entire syllabus for the global variants in the course notes?
November 7, 2012 at 7:33 pm #106589Hi Sugi
I’ve answered this already:
“If you were to check the syllabus from the ACCA website and compare with the global law notes contents page, you would be able to identify if there are any sections not covered by the notes.”
The purpose of a study text is to cover the syllabus.
The purpose of course notes are that they should be used as a basis for teaching on courses
Since the law courses which I teach are only four and a half days long, there’s no way that I could get through the entire syllabus.
However, “If you were to check the syllabus and …….”
November 7, 2012 at 7:56 pm #106591haha..real teaser there..i take it the entire syllabus has been covered but briefly – is that a fair assessment ?
November 8, 2012 at 10:00 pm #106592Not really – if there are bits missing then …. there are bits missing.
There is no substitute for a thorough understanding of a study text which does cover the entire syllabus.
However, given the lack of time, monetary resource and general motivation, the course notes together with the videoed lectures COULD be enough
