Am planning to write f4 global in february next year, my question is if i study the english variant will it be the same.? Because the notes r different but the videos most of them say english.
And how best can u advice me so tht i can pass my cbe next year on books akd kits..?November 20, 2016 at 3:09 pm #350154Don’t bother with buying a study text
But you MUST acquire a revision kit / exam kit from a reputable publisher
The video lectures cover the English variant but are also relevant for 50% – 60% of the Global variant
The course notes should be read as many times as you can bring yourself to do it – they take 2 hours to read … just READ … from start to finish
Don’t try to learn or to memorise
Just read – twice a week (at least)
Start into the revision kit immediately (not ‘immediately after you have read the notes and watched the videos!’ Start into the revision kit as soon as you have acquired it!)
When trying the mcqs and mtqs and don’t be surprised when you get 95% of them wrong first time through, nor 85% of them wrong second time through
Remember, keep reading the notes and watching the videos
75% of them wrong, then only 50% wrong
Then you’re cooking with gas! 30% wrong on your fifth time through
And then just 20%, 15%, 10%
Where do you want to be? 100%? It can happen if you go through and through and through those questions
Do NOT mark your attempt in the revision kit / exam kit itself – that would be a distraction for the subsequent attempts. Have a separate piece of A4 available and mark your efforts on that separate piece of paper
When you come to an answer that you don’t understand or where you have made an attempt and it’s incorrect and you don’t know why … post your question on this page Ask ACCA Tutor forum and I shall get back to you
The key to passing this paper is endless hours of practice, practice, practice
OK?
NB if you haven’t already acquired a revision kit / exam kit there is the opportunity to acquire BPP study material by placing your order through this site – check out the black box with yellow script on the right hand side of this page
But don’t waste your money on a study text

November 23, 2016 at 6:32 pm #351044Am stuck and failing to follow the videos and global notes. The first 10 chapters of f4 global, are there no videos on those ones..? or is that part not important..?
November 23, 2016 at 9:20 pm #351067No, there are no videos for the first 10 chapters and they are important
Just keep reading the course notes and practicing the mcqs from a reputable company’s revision kit / exam kit
And ask here about any matter that confuses you
November 24, 2016 at 8:08 am #351137Alright thanks
November 24, 2016 at 8:12 am #351138You’re welcome
December 2, 2016 at 2:25 am #353017Am i not supposed to learn the casrs as well…? Where can i view the cases if yes.?
December 2, 2016 at 11:57 am #353149If you’re doing paper-based then the examiner would appreciate the use of cases to support your answers but the opportunities to do so are very limited
None of the 45 mcqs are likely to give you this opportunity and it would be unusual for any of the 5 x 6 mark questions to offer it either
In short, don’t worry about cases
As for lectures for the global variant, there are none
But around 50% – 60% of the global exam is the same as the English variant and there are lectures for substantially the whole of that syllabus
And, of course, there’s me here waiting to answer any questions that you may have
OK?
