hello
I started doing the bpp revision kit and found that the questions from 45-50 are written questions. So if i am taking the CBT format will i also have written questions or just mcq and multi task questions.
ThanksMay 14, 2015 at 5:59 am #245829By “CBT” do you mean “CBE”?
If so, those last 5 questions are scenario questions, typically sub-divided into 3 separate parts of 2 marks each and answered by selecting from a choice of answers offered in a drop down menu
Is that what you wanted to know?
May 14, 2015 at 6:03 am #245831Yes . ( I got computer based exams confused with computer based tests . Hence the T and not the E)
So according to the revision kit , questions 45-50 gives 30 marks.is that correct.May 14, 2015 at 6:17 am #245832Yes, that’s the same as 5 questions x 6 marks each

May 14, 2015 at 6:58 pm #245998Hi , Can I please ask some advice , I am beginning the F4 global and the Open Tuition notes don’t seem to be supported fully by online lectures ( about half overlap with the English version) Are the notes alone sufficient for the CBE?
Thanks
May 14, 2015 at 11:00 pm #246025Hi Maria
No, the notes themselves are not enough. You must, as a bare minimum, get hold of a revision kit /exam kit from one of the reputable publishers and work through their bank of questions as often (3 or 4 times?) as you can manage
Beware though, even though they are reputable publishers, they still do make occasional errors
May 15, 2015 at 9:08 am #246079Thanks Mike for the rapid response.
Can I just clarify then that if I chose Global that I won’t have the full set of online lectures from Open Tuition?
I am based in Ireland but opted to this via CBE which means I can only do the English or Global variant so just wondering if there is a huge difference between them . The only reason I selected Global was that I am not based in UK.Regards,
Maria
May 15, 2015 at 9:38 am #246086Should you ever wish to live and work in the UK as a practicing accountant / auditor, you’ll need F4 English
The recorded videos are targeted at English law variant but are 50% / 60% relevant for Global variant
I imagine that Irish law is pretty similar to English law in the area of contract (I could, of course, be wrong!) so English law, if I’m correct, would be an appropriate choice
Whereas English variant is a requirement for your future if you’re in the UK, Global variant is not a requirement for anywhere.
I don’t know what else you may want me to say – has this helped at all?

Thanks for all that , it has been helpful.

May 18, 2015 at 7:31 am #246749Mike would you please guide me to choose the variant for F4 English or Global. I am confused in selecting. I live in Karachi, Pakistan.
May 18, 2015 at 8:14 am #246760Do you intend ever going to the UK to live and work as an accountant in practice?
No? Then Global is probably the variant for you
Yes? Then it’s English law!
Hope that helps
