The paper was ok, not hard at all but I might have failed because of bad time management on my part. Whew!

yh i realized dat many ppl didnt finish on tym i tink for paper f2 aND F3 SHUD VE MORE TYM CUZ DEY R PRATICAL PAPERS NT THEORY LYK F1 KMT.I HOPE EVERY1 DO WELL EVEN DOSE WHO DIDNT FINISH ON TYM
December 13, 2011 at 5:28 pm #91882there were too many calculation based questions so there was no way anyone who knew what they were doing would finish this paper, you would have to guess the rest of the way to make it thru. just imagine 2 prepayment and accrual questions, trial balance, reccuring depreciation of depreciated revalued NCAs, 2 recievables control acounts questions plus a payables account question and tones of share capital and consolidated accounts questions , i mean just reading the questions take about 2 minutes and the average time per question is 120 minutes/50 questions so a real all you have is time to read the questions nothing else so your focus would be to to identify 28 questions you are sure of do them first and the rest later. in this case it’s now about survival not excelling, i feel like i’ve been hit by a tsunami 🙁
December 13, 2011 at 5:56 pm #91883paper was ok..but time management was wrong too…acca put 3 number of consolidation n other question whic require calculation, 2 hours is not enough..i am really frustrated by this…
December 13, 2011 at 6:05 pm #91884i was really going quick quick,,,still I cant finish the paper….aaagggrrr…i wanna shout ….
December 13, 2011 at 6:14 pm #91885Again time management,,,,,,,, grrrrrr not enough time….
December 13, 2011 at 6:18 pm #91886The paper was extremely difficult and time consuming. 90% calculation was a bit too much for a 2 hour paper. I don’t know what to think. I leave it in the hands of posterity.

i dunt know y but they r now emphasising on theory… i guess 40% theory and 60% calculation should be the part of an ideal paper. but in december they r focusig on theory part. almost 85% theory and 15% numerical is there in paper. and the worst part is that exam level question can not be found in BPP or KAPLAN books , revision kit or indeed not in their mock exam. i wud request examiner of F3 to kindly have a look at the material in BPP and KAPLAN to check what kind of questions students are going through with.
regardsDecember 13, 2011 at 8:47 pm #91888To many calculations. Too little time. I feel so depressed after this exam. Sighhhhhh

not more than 3 tricky questions. I spent too much time on it. I thought it would be as hard as F1
December 14, 2011 at 2:47 am #91891Will there anywhere to see the paper/answers? I thought the exam was pretty crap. Maybe its cos I studied from home but the style of questioning threw me. They were very strict with time as well. I wanted to guess 3 of the mcqs id left and they basically ripped the paper from under me before I could guess, pissed me off.

@the globe, i agree they were very strict with timing!
In general I thought the paper was extremely challenging, i scored 80+ on the pilot paper the day before yet in the exam, the number of consolidated accounts questions was over the top. Even some of the bog standard questions appeared increasingly difficult in this exam.
I’ll squeeze a pass i hope, depends on how many of my lucky dip answers were correct!
December 14, 2011 at 6:04 am #91893hi friends i got f3 paper on 19 dec..could anyone give me some tips…thanks!

pretty sure it’l be vastly different. According to what i remember from yday consolidated accounts figures alot, pre-acquisition and post acquisition retained earnings, 2/3 calculations on gross margins, net margins, current ratios. Goodwill 100% subsidiary and part subsidiary. A receiveables and payables control account. Some tricky calculations related to depreciation for NCA and disposables.
December 14, 2011 at 6:57 am #91895When do we get results?
