Paper F2 to was hard, they tried to trick you in every simple question like IRR, ROCE, ROI. Hope to have good luck in the results.

The F2 paper was ok. I have mixed feelings about it. The section A was better compared to, section B. I found it a bit tough. I hope everyone does well.

Def a few trick questions in there, like Roce one, with interest cover!! flexed budget with Hi Low calc was headscratcher the way it was put, last EOQ a lil dicey too. 10 mark Variance Question was Nice – Explanation with a Graph helped me there. Stuck for time though in end. Is the exam paper online? as I had to hand it up! bogged down in middle of short questions for too long. Oh well! def take a pass .

I think the paper was a bit challenging but i must admit Mr John Moffat’s revision on the paper f2 specimen exam was extremely helpful especially where he said to do the easiest questions first. That advise really freed up time for me for the calculations based questions. To be honest i am very hopeful of passing but all the same i have benefited immensely from Open Tution. And to Mr John, please keep up the good work!! 🙂

I think(hope) they will need to lower the pass rate of this one a lil. Most thought it was hard incl myself. A heck of a lot to do in 2 hours in all fairness and a couple of questions I found unclear.Like to hear feedback on the CBE – as I think it focuses one more esp if having done the practice tests – did for me in Financial Accounting exam. Maybe I should have done the CBE here too but at the same time it ain’t going to be easier just different and some are better at this format. Practice makes perfect I guess but the syllabus for F2 is VAST and questions pretty random. Also in the written exam if you have rightish calculations written down for say a 2 mark MCQ question but can’t dig the correct answer out like myself on a few, is there any comeback? I’d like to think so if one is borderline Obviously on a CBE thats a non-runner. Can’t say I enjoyed too many written exams, few and far between but put lot of study into this one. This site is very good. Good job.

how exactly do these guys mark the paper F2, i mean in terms of the overall score, is there a certain specific contribution from either section A or B or if you ace the entire of section A you already have 70%?

    I’m new here
Who can I ask question to? And get the answer?

I’m stuck with this question. Can’t calculate it right.

The budgeted costs for X Co for June are as follows:

    Sales 20,000 units
    Materials $120,000
    Labour $200,000
    Fixed overheads $350,000
    Total cost $670,000

If the budget is flexed for 30,000 units what will be the budgeted total cost?

Section B question 1 was so tough I couldn’t even attempt, while Question 3 was very confusing. The obj was tricky and difficult than that of the revision kit. At least naw I know how to face ACCA questions now.

The total cost for flexed budget is $1,005,000.

You have to first of all get the cost per unit for matetial, labour and fixed overheads using the budgeted sales units. Then you multiply each cost per unit with the flexed sales units and sum them up to get the total cost.

    Budgeted sales: 20,000 units
    Cost per unit:
    Material 120,000/20,000= $6
    Labour 200,000/20,000= $10
    Fixed o/h 350,000/20,000= $17.5

    Flexed units: 30,000 units
    Material 6*30,000= $180,000
    Labour 10*30,000= $300,000
    Fixed o/h $17.5*30,000= $525,000
    Total cost $1,005,000

Can some one else confirm this answer if it’s correct? I’m just attempting, not sure if I am correct but that’s how I would answer the question.

F2 paper based exam was extremely difficult and trickery, the time allocated to the exam is too short.
