Anyone having the F2 in June? What texts are you using or do you suggest to use beside open tuition materials??
I’ll do the F2 when I’m ready probably after a month study. You know you can take f1-3 anytime by computer based exam (CBE) organised though kaplan or similar ?
And will self study with Kaplans F2 Complete Study text, and the exam kit for past paper practise.
I know that I can take it by CBE but as I work at the same time ? dont think that I’ll be ready before June so it doesn’t really matter for me. As for the text the ACCA suggests BPP but all students say Kaplan’s better. I’ll take your advice and order my Kaplan complete F2 edition. Thank you and Good luck
I see. Whatever works for you is the main thing!
In general, I think most people find the CBE useful so they can take exames one by one when they are ready rather than revising for 2-3 exams at the same time in june or december. Plus with CBE you get results as soon as you finish the test.

I may be also sitting for F2 in June. I have the BPP text and revision kit for December 2012. Do you think I can use it? or it would be better to buy another “updated” book? I am trying to compare the syllabus between 2012 and 2013, but I can not get the updated syllabus for 2013.

Hi all… for the moment I started studying with the open tuition materials but I’m waiting for the Kaplan F2 June 2013 edition. Well if you ask me i dont think that there’s any huge difference between the Dec.2012 edition and june 2013. How much can management accounting change in 6 months 🙂 when i get the books i can tell you the main subjects if you want so that you can compare.

KAPLAN is a silver awarded publisher of ACCA. Every season they publish complete study material for ACCA – exams. There is another publisher which is gold awarded BPP but as far as I have reserched Kaplan eventhough ” silver awarded” is better than BPP. That’s why ? dcided to go for Kaplan rather then BPP. They havent been delivered to me yet but i hope next week they’ll be in my hands:) ? dont know yet how useful they will be to me but i hope they are as good as people say and i hope to find the time and study them properly 🙂regards
i dont think there are any past paper for f2,thats why is annoying not to know what to expect in exams as to the level of difficulty,while P paper is a mild version of what it would really be.
@amalian i think i will contact people who have passed f2 recently and ask them about past papers. There must be somebody who’s willing to help no.

What ???? …well i hope is not true if it is …i dont know. Where did you hear that from.? Well i think that if it was smth like this they would have send us notifications. ? mean i get mail news from ACCA but i dont know about this change.

Yes the F2 exam consists of both short answered questions and multiple choice.
In addition kaplan books make the content of the subject easier to learn the basics due to the simplicity of the books and alot of examples but the texts lack the depth of the BPP texts and BPP also has examiner reviews which tells you what most people get wrong in exams teaching you to pay special attention to specific areas. I personally use both texts.Noo that is bad news… @crisptoffeeapple im using only Kaplan…isnt it enough??i mean we cant buy all the books for each exam we attend no…

Kaplan books are enough, they are great books. On F2 the non multiple choice questions just ask for numerical amounts for answers from what I can remember which isnt too bad its just a lot easier to be sure of your answer when you have multiple choice.
For self study I would say if you can only get Kaplan OR BPP i’d go with Kaplan. BPP’s text can be too complex.@crisptoffeeapple Thnx…everyone’s saying the same that BPP’ text is too complex and that’s y i went for kaplan..well happy i made the right choice. hope i do well in the exam…thnx for the advice
