Hi John
Ito Over-absorbed overheads and full production cost, which one of the two below is correct? Please note that both scenarios are absorption costing.
Option 1
units $
Sales 5200 156000
COS $21 (0+5800-600) (83,200)
Over-absorbed Overhead 1,600
(Under-absorbed Overhead)
Fixed Overheads $5 5200 (26,000)
Full Production cost (107600)
Gross Profit 48,400
Net Profit 48,400
Option 2
units $
Sales 5200 156000
COS $21 (0+5800-600) (83,200)
(Under-absorbed Overhead)
Fixed Overheads $5 5200 (26,000)
Full Production cost (109200)
Gross Profit 46,800
Over-absorbed Overhead 1,600
Net Profit 48,400
In other words :
Is gross profit $46800 or $48400?
Is over absorbed overhead a part of full production cost of sales?
Tx
