Dear students and tutor,
Student if you know the answer please do answer too as the tutors are not responsive recently, any help appreciated.
If we are an external consultant in the exam.
When we give a recommendation can we say ‘I’ or ‘We’?
For example, can I say
Overall, I recommend the Board accepts X because XYZ.

I think it depends on the scenario. If you are put in the scenario of representing a consulting firm then ‘we’ would be best used. If acting as an individual then ‘I’ would be appropriate. Your sentence of “Overall, I recommend the Board accepts X because XYZ” seems appropriate and professional if acting as an individual consultant.
