HI,

can someone please tell me about bridging the expectations gap ? What the auditor actually does and what the public thinks it does.

What recommended ways are there to bridge those gaps?

There are 2 types

A standards / performance gap – users believe auditing standards are more comprehensive to what they actually are.

A liability gap – users do not understand whom the auditor is legally responsible to.
