Exception Reporting

Hi,

I came across ‘exception reporting’ whilst working out questions. Could you kindly tell me what this means please?

Eg investigate large variances only. Small variances imply things are going as planned so not much management attention is needed there. Large variances imply a departure from the plan and investigation is needed there. You look for exceptions to what you expect.
