Good day. I solved examples 4 & 5 from the lecture notes. I got £600 and £2,800. The answers shown on pages 168 to 169 mirror my solutions, but the total is different from the addition of the individual answers. Please was this the total answer shown a mistake, if not, please explain where the difference is coming from.

It is indeed a typing error that should have been updated – the individual figures that you agree with are correct! Apologies for confusion
