    Hi all,

I have just booked my first exam in March 2020, but I live in Skegness UK and found that none of my nearest (Nottingham, Peterborough) venues offer the exam. I live quite a distance from any venue so have to book several trains and accommodation for each exam and the best I have found is ‘Birmingham TBC’. I have read that the docket information is available about 4 weeks before the exam but I will need more information before that in order to book my travel.

    I guess my questions are:
    * Does the TBC change to an actual venue before the docket is available?
    * Do more venues open up nearer to the time, ie my closer ones?
    * Does anyone know from experience where abouts in Birmingham the TBC might be?

    Thanks in advance,
    Adele

I’m not sure how much help I can be but from my experience of booking exams the address was given for computer based exams, or are you attempting a paper based one? However if I remember correctly Birmingham will be all computer based by March 2020.
Re: the exam docket this is available about 2 weeks before the exam not 4.
Not all venues open for early exam booking so potentially after 11 November more will become available or at least every venue will be confirmed at this date so locations should appear.
I’ve had exams in Birmingham before (the ones by me stopped being exam centres) and there is multiple exam centres however all within reasonable walking distance of New Street Station.

My advise would be to book accommodation and transport for around Birmingham and then when you get the address confirmed you may just have to get on a bus or something if you don’t fancy walking to it.

    HI Beth,

Lovely thank you! You’ve put my mind to rest a lot! It was for a computer-based one, there are a couple in Birmingham areas but they don’t seem to offer my exam (PM). I might have a look after 11 Nov, some might become available and should be a minimal charge to change it! I used to live in Birmingham so know the areas generally well.

    Great advice 🙂
    Thank you!
    Adele
