Sir in exam a question has came that Critically discuss the types of standard used in standard costing and their effect on employee motivation.

Sir, while answering this question, is it necessary to write and start with the below paragraph or shall we directly begin with standards?

“The theory of motivation suggests that having a clearly defined target results in better performance than having no target at all, that targets need to be accepted by the staff involved, and that more demanding targets increase motivation provided they remain accepted.”

There is certainly no need to start with that paragraph. You are not examined on the ‘theory of motivation’ 🙂
Go straight into the standards – for each of them, describe what they are, and comment on their effect on motivation.

If this was from a past examiners answer, then do appreciate that the examiners answers are deliberately far longer than is expected from students (because they realise that students learn from them).
For this question you would not be expected to write more than about 2 sentences for each standard – one describing, and one about motivation.

The lectures are always updated for the current syllabus. The current lectures were recorded recently.

Sir the therotical/descriptive topics which are in F5 e.g major characteristics that distinguish service from manufacturing, phases of product life cycle, maximizing return over product life cycle, ways to reduce cost gap, advantages and disadvantages of full cost plus and marginal cost plus pricing, issues to consider while outsourcing , advantages of zero based budget , advantages of rolling budget etc etc etc, so whether we read and learn these and all such topics from studytext OR from examiner reports answers , But both are correct na?

Everyone one of the things that you list is covered in my free lectures!!!!!

The lectures are a complete free course and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.

I don’t know why you are jumping around like this. To pass the exam you need to study properly and practice hard.

To study, you should print out the free lecture notes. Then you should watch the lectures, in order, with the notes in front of you. In the lectures I explain and expand on the notes. After each chapter you should then attempt the free online test to check you have understood the lecture.

When you are confident that you understand all the topics, you should then use a Revision Kit from one of the ACCA approved publishers and attempt every question. Check your answers, learn from any mistakes, and ask in this forum if anything is not clear.

When you have done that, there will be practice exams in your Revision Kit to try, and there is a free online practice test on this website. There are also ‘Revision Kit live’ lectures working through many past exams.

When you have done all of that then you can be confident of passing the exam well, but, again, studying properly and practicing hard is the only way to pass – there is no other way.

It does seem as though you can’t or don’t want to watch all the lectures in order. That is obviously your choice, but in that case you must study in the same way but by working through every chapter of a Study Text, in chapter order, instead of watching the lectures.
