Just couple of points if you can answer please, I will very appreciate it.
I am very struggling with this paper and very marginal fails from 45-48.
If question is for 10 marks and I write more then required like 12 or 13 points having 2 or 3 points not valid to question, how the marking will be done? will they take my non valid point as part of answer if mentioned first and ignore last 3 points even if valid? I am confused as I believe I always write more points during exam without even knowing it.
If question has not specified which model to use but gave some hints referring to some model and I used wrong one but try to justified my answer even they are two completely different like Perf Pyramid and Value chain, will I get any marks or not at all?
Is it possible if my points are Valid but may be different to some extent or completely different from examiners or other candidates points?
Do I have to write each point as paragraph or can write few points in one paragraph? if I write few points in one paragraph but should have written in next one, will I lose marks?
For professional marks, if I start report format with introduction and then heading, sub heading, can I get all 4 marks?
For calculations like EVA, we get mark for each adjustment ? also when calculating WACC half formula is correct like calculated debt correctly but wrong equity so no marks? and if one adjustment wrong means EVA will wrong but used right formula for EVA, will it get marks?
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Naz
September 6, 2019 at 8:12 am #545223Q1 There is no negative marking so wrong points simply score zero so write what you think relevant without fear (but stick to the time allocation implied).
Q2 If no specific model is specified you will get marks for using any relevant model.
Q3 All valid points will attract marks even if not anticipated by the examiner.
Q4 Better to use one point per paragraph, but a point will require at least a sentence if it is to be properly explained and to get good marks.
Q5 Professional marks depend on both format, decent layout of your points, appropriate use models and professional language.
Q6 For longish calculations you will be given marks for correct parts. So, if EVA was wrong because you did not adjust correctly for tax paid you would still receive lots of marks.

Q1. OK so what I understand is if I write 13 points for 10 marks question with 3 invalid points, I will be get marks for other 10 points?
Q4. I have done revision with one of tutor and he told to not write each point in one paragraph. Will we be penalise for writing few points as one paragraph? for example if BSC need to use and under each heading I write 2-3 points but one paragraph each heading?
Thank you once again for your help, It helped me a lot.

Q4 The key is clarity. To some extent points per paragraph do not matter, but the marker has to be able to identify them. Coalescing several points into one paragraph can make that harder. Sticking to one point per paragraph makes it easier for the marker to identify each point you make.
