    Hello

    1. Using the area of the 3 lenses as an example, the question may ask something like: “Evaluate the strategic planning project at MidShire Health through each of these three strategy lenses”. In such a situation, do i make reference to the sentences to illustrate the particular lens.

    Example using :

    https://www.chinaacc.com/upload/html/2013/07/01/lixingcun14622a2ae3934c32bcb87fad62d3f210.pdf

    Question extract
A local newspaper had run the headline ‘spending money on computers – not patients’ and it included a number of quotes attributed to one of the hospital doctors on the strategic steering group where he criticised the appointment of Eurotek and the attitude of the MidShire Health CEO.

‘Running a manufacturing company is very different from running a health service’, he said.

‘We are motivated by service, not products and profit.’ Terry Nagov, as CEO, openly questioned the ethics of members of the steering group discussing confidential internal matters with the press. The hospital doctors and the nursing managers fiercely defended their right to do so.

‘You have to understand’, they said, ‘our loyalty is to the profession and to the public. We must act in the public interest.’ Nevertheless, the CEO raised the possibility of disciplinary action against the hospital doctor.

Extract of part of my answer:
From the scenario, strategy by experience can be seen by the comments raised by the hospital doctors regarding the reasons for poor health. These were also echoed by the nursing managers. These same individuals voiced their opinion that they are loyal to the profession and the public. They also said that they are not motivated by products and profits. One of the doctors also criticised the info. system saying that it was not helpful regarding the control of activities and better service. All of these comments are based on the experience of doctors and nurses.

This is the 2nd time i have written P3 my marks were 44 & 42. Since ACCA does not provide feedback for each student, I’m trying to figure out where i went wrong. Thanks for taking the time to read my long post/question.

1 You would have to mention each of the lenses and show how Midshores makes use of each. Strategy by experience is usually interpreted as staying close to old solutions that have worked in the past (but, of course, they might not work in the future). I’m not sure your answer reflects that. Indeed, the criticism of the IT system implies some staff see the need for a radical change (the ideas lens).

2 We close off posts when we feel we have dealt with them, otherwise they keep growing and evolving with other questions tagged on that bear no relation to the original heading.
