    hi sir
i have read all the articles you wrote on p4 page regarding how this paper is and i thoroughly read the tips and the comments you gave to students who failed marginally.

ive had a bit of a struggle with f9 but i did manage to pass with 59.

i just wanted to know apart from practising and doing the revision kit as many as times as possible, could you tell me any techniques that i could use in the exam itself.

also, ive read in the forum that for p4 we need to have a good idea about the current affairs and possible try to read the financial times everyday if possible . is that correct? if so how is that beneficial for tackling the exam questions.

lastly, you mentioned somewhere that we should read and re-read question 1 if possible, but isnt that going to create time pressure?will we be able to complete question 1 in 90 mins then?

    thanks alot

The most important thing of all in the exam is to do something for every part of every question. There is time pressure and you are not going to finish every part by any means, but they are generous with the marks and if you do enough for it to be clear what you are trying to do then they will give you credit.

The more you read then obviously the better. However, because so much of the exam is theoretical it is not really necessary to be reading the Financial Times every day.
That sort of reading is not really relevant for the calculation parts of questions, but it can help occasionally when answering written parts – just being familiar both with the terms used and (for example) the reasons in practice why share prices move.
