    Dear Ken,

Could you please advice or any ideas on how we should tackle the exam regarding time allocated for reading, planning, writing, should we go through the whole case including reading all exhibits and planning as a whole or should we go part by part answering every question?
It is the first time I am sitting the new SBL and I find it quite overwhelming and difficult the new lay out of the exam not mentioning that the 4 hours exam must be extenuating!
I hope we can take something to eat as I am not sure how my brain is going to perform for soo long without fuel. 🙂

    Many Thanks,
    Alua

I think you need to read the whole case first. Although the exhibits often concentrate on one requirement, sometimes they also provide information for several requirements and you can’t afford to gamble by not being aware of all the information.

You should spend at least 30 minutes up-front reading and thinking. Annotate the question paper showing which pieces of information are relevant to each requirement. Plan your reports/letters/briefing paper using headings and ensure it focuses on what’s needed.

You will have to spend a bit more planning time later as you come to answer each part.

Not sure about food – obviously not a toasted sandwich, but I do not think you are likely to get into trouble with small, silent, discreet confectionery!
