I am working through this question section a comment 2 they have worked the EPS calculation out (incorrectly I understand) as 6000/46,000 x100.The correct calculation per the answer, is 5,700 (attributable to P equity profit) / by £43,000
x 100 , where has the £43k come from please? it also says and increase of 6% (13.3 – 12.5/12.5) has the 12.5 been calculated using profit attributable to owners in 20×5 $53K
I can see where the additional six million has increased !
I am getting myself in right muddle!

There are 40,000 shares brought forward and there was an issue of 6,000 more shares half way through the year
An issue of 6,000 half way through the year is the equivalent of 3,000 in issue for a full year
So 40,000 + 3,000 equivalent is where the 43,000 has come from

yes, last year there was a profit of $5,000 and there were 40,000 shares in issue so $5,000 / 40,000 = 12.5 cents per share earnings
