Hi all, I am sitting an exam for the first time in an exam centre in March. I’d be grateful if anyone could let me know what to expect on the day? I have passed 8 exams remotely and this will be a new experience for me.
Do we need to print the docket paper? Do we get scrap paper? How does it work if you need a toilet break? And any other info which may be useful please.
Thanks!

I was hoping to find out what its like in an exam centre on the day, and what to expect during set-up, if it’s noisy etc. I guess I will find out soon enough 🙂
February 23, 2026 at 11:49 am #724841I was doing some exams in the centre and some remotely (to save time and days of holidays :))
In my experience it was far better to do them remotely. It was quicker to write on my laptop (as I am used to it) and in the centre I always had this outdated big keyboard where you have to press strongly to write a letter :D. My advice is to use the earplugs as when everyone starts to write it is really annoying (I did two remote exams and the rest in the centre) so the silence at home was a bliss to concentrate. But this is my experience. I had first time passes at both remote and centre exams.
They will give you a scrap paper, you can go to the toilet after an hour as far as I remember. You can have a small bottler of water but you need to remove the label.Good luck 🙂
I am sitting my last exam next week 😀
February 24, 2026 at 5:40 pm #724860Thanks Maggie, I’ve heard about the noise of keyboards/typing, hoping I can drown it out once I’m in the zone… I will miss using typing on my own laptop and the comfort and silence of home. I have become used to doing all my notes on a scratchpad so I shouldn’t need paper, but in case I do it’s good to know they provide it.
Good luck for your last exam!! I can’t wait to be sitting my last exam haha 🙂
