Geeh Co paid an interim dividend of $0.06 per ordinary share and declared a final dividend of $0.08 per share.
Cum div price of ordinary shares is $1.83.

    Dividend yield?

Total dividend for the year = $0.14
    Ex div price of share = $1.83- $0.08= $1.75

    Dividend yield = $0.14/$1.75×100= 8%

My doubt is, why do we not less the interim dividend while calculating ex div share price?

    (I.e. $1.83-($0.08+$0.06)=$1.69

When shares go ex-div then the price falls by the amount of the dividend about to be paid (which here is just the final dividend).
