Dear Sir,
May I know why the additional pre tax return from the additions to the current assets and non-current assets are not added to the retained earnings in the Revised statement of financial position?

The question asks for the impact the sale would have ‘immediately’ on the statement of financial position. The additional return from the extra assets will not have an impact until the first year after the sale. (They impact the forecast EPS because the question goes on to ask for the impact on the year 1 EPS)
