Apologies in advance if I have started a new string for an already existing topic.

I hope to sit for my P5 exams in June 2017 but struggling to grasp the content of the subject matter, specially with EVA. I read the student accounting articles, the Kaplan text and attempted the examples and exercises on my own. However, the existence of 2 approaches to derive the NOPAT still confuse me.

Please be kind enough to suggest past paper questions that can be attempted and any other means and methods I can follow to clear this confusion.

    Thank you. ?

    Hi sir

Sorry there are some typo error for my question.

My ques is for Dec2007 question on EVA notes 10 the information given is non cash expenses for 2006 and 2007. Why for EVA 2007 which take opening of capital employed (Closing of capital employed for year 2016), the adjustment of noncash expenses for year 2016 no need to adjust in the opening of capital employed for calculation of EVA 2007.

If the question did not mention it whether it is already included in the 2006 capital employed, how we know that?

    Thank You

Ok. I think that 12 should be added to the opening capital employes for 2007. We have added 12 back to the 2016 profits and this should increase the reserves at the end of 2016 by 12.
