Hi
I did the Professional ethics module about a week ago, and now the section 9 part says I passed πI didn’t get a certificate or anything though. How long will it take for me to get the certificate by post?
Any information is appreciated
ThanksJuly 29, 2014 at 9:26 am #179891I think there is a time lag between completing the module and the system updating your record as it is NOT a live system. Anyone who has successfully completed the module should leave it a week before trying again and then report it if there is no change and the system still shows it as outstanding.
Regarding any certificate – this would be administered by ACCA not OBU
Probably a good idea though for everyone planning to submit in P29 to try to do the module at LEAST a week before to avoid problems and unnecessary stress. π
August 4, 2014 at 12:24 pm #180798hi,
I have submitted few days ago and showed pending audit on the day.
Today when i log in and check again,it showed incomplete again.
what does that mean?
Does that mean i am failed and need to do and submit it again.
Please advise.
Thanks a lot.
Sebina
August 4, 2014 at 3:29 pm #186354@sebina11 The ACCA system is not a live system and I believe it can take up to a week to update the result for this module. I suggest that you leave it few more days and then try again and see what happens.
If it still shows as incomplete then you should contact ACCA as I would have thought if you had failed it would have said so (but this is only an assumption on my part). Maybe someone else who has had a similar experience to you can advise you more precisely on this forum?
August 6, 2014 at 1:51 pm #186629^is this true? i was going to submit my project in period 29.. but i have not yet completed my ethics module as i thought it will only take a day and i still have 2 months?
Please tell me πAugust 6, 2014 at 4:26 pm #186690@ace and @captmario
I think what we have to differentiate here is the fact that there are 2 databases and they are obviously not integrated. OBU according to your post @ace only updates its database in April and October (no doubt based on a file that ACCA sends them from the sound of it), so anyone who completes the module between April and Sept will only show on the OBU database in October and it is this updated Oct file that will be used for Period 29. However although the ACCA system is not live I would have thought that it updates more regularly (certainly it has to when recording exam results!). So if you have any queries or problems regarding the ethics module it would seem pointless referring them to OBU but instead, address them to ACCA in the first instance.
You MUST complete the module before the end of Sept as that is the cut-off. If your pass is not recorded on the OBU system (i.e. misses the October updated file from ACCA) then you will not be able to submit. It seems logical therefore to try to complete the module asap to avoid unnecessary stress and disappointment – especially if it only takes a day! π
August 6, 2014 at 4:49 pm #186696So i won’t be able to submit my project in this period 29? π what a waste, this is not fair since they say deadline is 30th September. How are we supposed to know we should have completed the module by April?
August 6, 2014 at 5:39 pm #186708@captmario – You will be able to submit in Period 29 as long as you pass it by Sep 30 2014. Clarification of my statement was “so anyone who completes the module between April and Sept will only show on the OBU database in October” means that anyone completing by that date will appear on the updated file passed to OBU in Oct and it is THAT file that is used for the Period 29 submissions. ( I have now edited my post to this effect)
August 9, 2014 at 2:30 am #188755who completes this?
August 9, 2014 at 10:02 am #188854@sogano0 – eventually everyone who wants ACCA membership! However anyone submitting work for the OBU BSc degree in Applied Accounting in November 2014 MUSTpass this by 30 Sept 2014
August 22, 2014 at 7:09 am #191837I had completed the online Ethics Module in Sept 2013. Is this valid for Nov 14 submission or I have to do it again ?
August 22, 2014 at 10:14 am #191853I need some help, what is the pass mark for the foundation in professionalism (the ethic module) and how long does it take after passing the ethics module,to receive the certificates.
September 3, 2014 at 10:15 am #193447I have the same concern as the other comrade above…
@trephena I completed the module back in 2012…is it still valid if I want to submit OBU for Nov 2014?September 3, 2014 at 9:22 pm #193562@avian will – as far as I am aware this is something that you pass once and that is it. I have yet to receive definite confirmation to the contrary, so I would have thought that a pass in 2012 is as good as a pass in 2014.
September 4, 2014 at 1:52 pm #193683Thanks @trephena!
OBU confirmed to me today that once the module is done there is no need to do it again π
October 5, 2014 at 11:22 pm #203594Hi I did not do the ethics module can i do it now π
October 6, 2014 at 1:07 am #203600@habonyousuf You can do the module whenever you like but as you have not completed it by 30th Sept it most probably means that you will have to wait until Period 30 before you can submit your RAP.
We established on this forum that you must be showing this as completed on the ACCA database file forwarded to OBU which I am lead to believe is run on 1st Oct and is used by OBU to update their files. If your record on the Oct file used by OBU still shows this as outstanding then your submission will be rejected as it is a condition for submission that the Ethics Module must have been successfully completed prior to submission and the cut-off date is a month before the submission window opens.
October 6, 2014 at 6:37 am #203603Thank you… Unfortunately Im almost done with the RAP i guess i’ll have to wait
October 6, 2014 at 9:10 am #203619@habonyousuf – your only hope if you do really want to submit in P29 is to complete it today and then contact the OBU Admin office once you have done so and inform them. It is a long shot in the sense I have no idea whether it will work – the cut-off date is in the Info pack so students are made aware of this well in advance – but it is worth a try.
February 13, 2015 at 6:59 am #228206Hi
What sort of essay Am I expected to produce?
Also another question is this( differnt subject)
What title can i use at work for example after i get my degree? ( considering I am acca part qualified)
Many thanks
BarbaraFebruary 23, 2015 at 11:47 am #229795How do i complete the professional ethics module on the acca website? is there need to study anything ?
i saw there are 10 modules. As soon as i start it , is there a time limit ?
ThanksFebruary 23, 2015 at 3:38 pm #229816@krol3 – as far as I am aware you can do it over several days/weeks as it will save what you have done. Bear in mind that if you don’t pass it at the first attempt you will have to redo it and it must be completed by 31st March if you want to submit your RAP in May 2015. So best to get it out of the way asap. π
February 23, 2015 at 3:41 pm #2298181. the ethics module is not essay based
2. The same title you have always used – the ACCA OBU BSc in Applied Accounting is a first degree not a PhD !

Hello,
After registering on the Oxford Brookes database the dashboard in my account shows that I have not completed the 9 fundamental exams and the professional ethics module whereas I have completed the ethics module couple of days ago and have passed all the 9 fundamental exams. Can anyone help me out in this ?
