Once again I have been asked by the Chief Administration at OBU to remind everyone intending to submit in Period 31 that they MUST have completed the online Ethics Module by 30th September 2015 to be eligible to submit work to OBU in November 2015. You access this via myacca . No ifs or buts apparently if you have not passed it by that date then you CANNOT submit in Period 31. So best to do it now before you forget! (Obviously those who have already completed the module may disregard this notice) 😀

Hi,
The ethics module can be found on the main Myacca page, after logging in with your respective Student ID number and password. It is not a test and there is no related material for it. It is basically a module that usually takes 4-6 hours to complete. You can complete it in parts. What will happen is that first you will be briefed on ethics that an professional should have, then you will answer questions on this. Don’t worry, if you answer wrong, there are no consequences. In the end, I believe there are some video case studies you will need to complete, and also a 150 word feedback is required. After you have completed the module, you will receive a standard printed certificate of completion via post and can start working on the OBU project. If you need further information, don’t hesitate to ask.

Dear jigga.moiz69 ,
I have been trying to complete the online Foundation in Professionalism module but with no luck. I have extensively studied the module and have attempted the online Final Quiz several time but I cant get more than 27% of the marks. It says I need at least 50% to pass the module. This is quite ridiculous as I am sure if some human manually assess my answers, I am sure to pass. However, since the assessment procedure is automated, I think its only expecting exact answers and feedbacks which is not possible.
Is there any way you can help me this?May 21, 2011 at 5:00 pm #59722AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Mr. Hammad salim,
I completed Foundation in Professionalism module with 47% score in 1st attempt, 46% in 2nd attempt, 43% in 3rd attempt.. i was keep on editing and enhancing my answers and keep on getting lower marks. Uptil now i’ve tried it more then 6 times but failed to get 50%, i dont know wats the problem with this module and how i can get 50%. Another big problem is that we really dont know its marking scheme how it mark or count our every answer.May 21, 2011 at 10:25 pm #59723AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Thanks Mdani for replying to my post. I now atleast know that I am not the only one having this problem.
I have even tried emailing the ACCA but havent received any reply which is very unprofessional. Now that I know you are having issues as well, I’ll call them and try to understand what the problem really is. Will post information once I have anything to report. Meanwhile, If you need to get in touch with me, my email address is hammadsalim@hotmail.comJune 4, 2011 at 11:22 am #59724AnonymousInactive- Topics: 0

Yeh i got same problem guys. I go back to review the material but dosen’t work out.
Especially in the ranking order ones, you obviously have to get them all right. They do not give you points for every correct order, its all or nothing. Did you guys score well on the ranking (personal effectiveness and values)?June 23, 2011 at 11:58 am #59725I have done it for few times and not getting more than 38%, I have recently sat in F8 and have all knowledge on ethics. I dont know what to do. How to pass?

Note that ‘foundation in professionalism’ is different from ‘professional ethics module’. You only need to complete the latter in order gain membership as well as undertake the OBU RAP

August 14, 2012 at 12:15 pm #59731For people with questions try logging in to your ACCA, expand the ethics and professionalism tab in the menu on the left and click request professional ethics module.
This will take you into the professional ethics module and on the first screen their is a user F&Q which will help you.

Hi!
as for your Qs:
1. you need to do ur prof ethics by urself. if you are attempting P1 then it can give u a great help.
2. There is no limit for Prof ethics
3. It will not affect your OBU. are you doing FIP or Prof ethics? there is a difference between both.
4. you should download ACCA obu pack to read all the info then only you may start ur RAP.
5. ACCA obu pack will have 20 topics.
I think it will unlikely to be change.Hope these can help you.

Hi all,
I completed the PROFESSIONAL ETHICS MODULE and submitted the short essay at the end of the module.
When I access MYACCA it states that “Your records state that you have not completed the Professional Ethics module”.
Did anyone encounter any similar problems? When I re-enter in the module it states that unit 9 of the module is not yet complete.

Hi all,
I completed the PROFESSIONAL ETHICS MODULE and submitted the short essay at the end of the module.(3 day ago…)

what does it means……?March 2, 2013 at 12:11 pm #119002Hi forumites’ I completed the PEM on 10 February, that is about 3 weeks ago and awaiting audit. How long will it take for me to know the outcome?
Anyone got any idea on this?
January 27, 2014 at 5:40 pm #154510Hi folks,
I submitted section 9 last night.
Today my section 9 says “passed” but myacca is still showing I need to complete the ethics module.
Hoping it will resolve itself quickly because I wanted to get this out of the way so that if I have passed my final exams I can proceed to membership.
I haven’t seen anything to suggest it is awaiting audit but I will keep checking every day.
Does anyone else have experience of this?February 11, 2014 at 2:43 am #157895ummm
