AB is a large airline. A recent survey of its passengers indicated that 65% had problems due to other passengers allowing their children to create noise and disturbance on the aircraft. Families make up around 15% of AB’s total passengers.
Which of the following courses of action would be regarded as a utilitarian point of view?
A Do nothing, as families rights should be protected
B Refuse to allow bookings for families
C Provide entertainment for children on board to keep them occupied
D Create a separate section on the planes for families with children
Answer is B. Why D is not the answer as we are doing for greater good. Neither shareholders has to use more investment nor other people will be disturbed. Families will also have privacy.
Its not clear to me either. Even C might work.
