Hello,
I am currently attempting the F4 LW (GLO) exam. The lecture notes and videos provided on this site have been a huge help for getting ready for the exam. As such, I want to thank the tutors and people who made this information accessible to all for free.
However, with my exams nearing I wanted to remove a suspicion I have and would greatly appreciate your input. The videos (whether that be on Youtube or on the site) date back to 2020, all the comments and information seems to be during that date range as well. As a consequence, I became unsure as to whether or not the videos are up to date for the 2023-2024 exams.
This suspicion was further reenforced when I asked the AI on the site this specific question. To which it answered that they are not up to date with the current curriculum. Which I believe to be a mistake as the videos follow the lecture notes quite well (there are also instance that don’t make sense with the effect of Brexit in the Ratio Decidendi lecture for instance)
Could someone please confirm if the lectures provided in LW (GLO) up to date for the upcoming June exam 2024? If they are not, would using them as material still be acceptable (for instance if the curriculum has not changed much since then)? Or inform me of where I could potentially find the up to date material.
Kind regards,
May 23, 2024 at 8:21 pm #705894I understand, from Kim Smith, that you have already had this query answered. Of course AI will say that something from 2020 is not current with 2024. However, the speed of law reform / change and the infrequency of syllabus amendment together combine to ensure that the OT material IS up to date and IS relevant for your June 2024 exams.
Occasionally, there is an update – but invariably that would necessitate only a very minor change to the notes. These tiny amendments certainly have not, so far, justified a re-recording of any subject matter. The course notes are amended as necessary even though the lectures may lack those tiny amendments.
As for Brexit, the UK has continued to adopt most of the European Law that was passed in the period during which the UK was an active participant so there is no perceived need to change anything as a result of Brexit
Does that reassure you?

May 27, 2024 at 3:47 pm #706131You’re very welcome
And, of course, should you feel that you need further clarification on any point, please do not hesitate to post on this Ask ACCA Tutor forum
OK?
