Hi Sir! Law Irish version is the same as Law English version? Thanks very much!
January 17, 2019 at 9:40 am #502415Hi Laura
I know very, very little about Irish law
However, I have just checked through the Irish variant syllabus and the only obvious differences that I can see are in syllabus section:
A2a Explain the place of the Constitution in the hierarchy of sources of Irish law
D3c Analyse different types of companies, especially:-
i) private companies existing prior to the Companies Act 2014, and the new types of private limited companies under CA 2014 (private companies limited by shares and designated activity companies)D4f Describe the contents of optional provisions (replacing the model articles of association under Table A of the Companies Act 1963)
These are the only three matters that refer specifically by name to Irish Law and Irish statute.
However, within the rest of the syllabus (that is worded exactly the same as the English Law syllabus) there are probably other variations. For example by way of illustration only, it could be that section G1c “Discuss the qualifications required of a liquidator” could have different qualification requirements in Irish law than those required under English law
I doubt very much that there will be major, significant differences and that there should be a lot of the free course notes and lectures on OpenTuition that are directly relevant to the Irish variant
What is of vital importance is that you acquire a revision kit from one of the recognised publishers and that you spend endless hours going over and over again the mcqs and mtqs that you will find in that revision kit
If you don’t already possess one you might think about taking advantage of the 20% discount that you would receive if you were to order your study material through OpenTuition – just click on the yellow box on the right of this page and follow the instructions
Hope that helps
OK?
January 17, 2019 at 9:17 pm #502518Thanks very much Sir! I only started to study F4. Because I was confused if to study Global or English version I asked the ACCA and I was advised to study the Irish version. There are some articles on the site which suits for Ireland but the books are written only for English and Global variant. I have to order the English books.
Thanks again for your help!
