    Could you explain,concerning summary dismissal what does ‘waives their right or accepts payments in lieu of notice?’

    To “waive your rights” means that you have rights that you could exercise if you chose to but instead you decide not to – so you waive your rights

    Another possible choice is to waive your rights to require reinstatement and instead you accept a monetary amount in place of receiving your entitlement to a notice period
